Event Host - Event based

Are you passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community? Queer & Sober is looking for a warm, dedicated volunteer to be the face of our events and help us ensure everyone feels welcome and celebrated.
Our events are made possible through the hard work of volunteers. If you’re friendly, organized, and love building connections, this is your chance to make a difference!
What You’ll Be Doing:

Welcome Guests: Greet everyone with a smile, set the tone for a fun and inclusive atmosphere, and ensure all guests feel comfortable and supported.

Facilitate a Positive Environment: Promote and uphold our alcohol- and drug-free policy, ensuring a safe and respectful space for all.

Capture the Moment: Take photos and videos during events to share the energy and vibes with our wider community.

Engage with Attendees: Check in with guests throughout the event to ensure everyone is having a great time.

Support Event Success: Help troubleshoot small issues on the spot and assist the team as needed.
What We’re Looking For:

A friendly, approachable individual with excellent communication skills.

Someone who is reliable, proactive, and comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.

A passion for creating safe, sober spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Basic photo and video skills (smartphone quality is great!) to capture the essence of our events.

Availability of 4-6 hours per event, with flexibility depending on the schedule.

Club lead - Regular Events Attendance

Become a Club Lead with Queer & Sober!
Do you have a passion you’d love to share with others? Whether it’s books, running, board games, cooking, or something completely unique, Queer & Sober is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead their very own clubs and create meaningful connections in our LGBTQIA+ community.
If you’re ready to turn your favorite hobby into a safe, sober space for others to enjoy, we’d love to have you on board!
What You’ll Be Doing:

Pick Your Passion: Choose a topic or activity you’re passionate about, like a Boo(k) Club, Running Club, Board Game Night, or any idea you’re excited to bring to life.

Create Community: Host regular meetups, welcome participants, and foster a supportive and fun environment.

Lead with Care: Ensure all club activities are inclusive and uphold our alcohol- and drug-free values.

Collaborate with Us: Work with the Queer & Sober team to secure venues and promote your club.

Digital & Events Support (4 - 6 hrs/week)

Queer & Sober is looking for a dedicated volunteer to help us strengthen our online presence and support our events.
All of our activities are possible because of volunteers so if you’re passionate about community building and digital engagement, this is a great opportunity to contribute.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Website Support (Wix): Making adjustments and keeping our site up to date

Event Creation: Assisting with setting up and promoting our events

Social Media Reposting: Helping share content on LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms
What We’re Looking For:

Someone who understands basic website management (Wix experience is a plus)

Comfortable using social media and reposting content

Organized and reliable, with an interest in LGBTQIA+ community work

Available 4-6 hours per week on a flexible schedule

Secretary of the BoD (6 hrs/week)

Join Queer & Sober as Secretary of the Board of Directors
Queer & Sober is looking for a committed and detail-oriented individual to serve as Secretary of the Board of Directors. This is a key volunteer role for someone with a legal or administrative background who is passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and creating safe, sober spaces.
Key Responsibilities:

Board Administration: Prepare agendas, record accurate minutes of board meetings, and ensure timely distribution of documents to all members.

Legal Compliance: Oversee the organization’s adherence to Dutch legal and regulatory requirements, including governance documentation, filings, and compliance records.

Correspondence Management: Handle official communications on behalf of the board and maintain an organized archive of all correspondence and key documents.

Policy and Procedure Support: Assist in developing and maintaining internal policies and procedures in line with legal standards and best practices.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other board members to ensure the smooth running of the organization’s operations and activities.
Requirements:

Legal or administrative background with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) to handle correspondence and legal compliance within the Netherlands.

Attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information.
